Basic answers
Where do I pick?
The farm address is 6679 State Road 23, Spring Green, WI 53588. The blueberries are accessed by a farm driveway over a small bridge 500 feet west of the house. Pull into the farm and drive forward to the parking area and self-checkout stand. Click here for a map pin.
how do I pick?
With your thumb and forefinger - ripe berries will barely resist. Drop picked berries into a container on the ground or hanging from your body. It’s nice to have both hands free! When you’ve picked enough for the day, weigh out your harvest at the self-checkout stand and drop a picking slip and payment into the box.
What do I pick?
Blue berries! You can tell they’re ripe if they are blue all the way to the back, where the stem connects. If that’s still pink, it’s not quite ripe yet. For best results, pick in the marked rows.
when do i pick?
Picking season began on June 24. There are several varieties of blueberry that will ripen through July and hopefully into August. Check this page and social media to see how bountiful the picking is. You can come by just about any time - early morning can be stunning, and I’ve had a great time picking under the full moon or during a torrential downpour. Pick your own berries and pick your own adventure!
Who can pick?
You! By yourself or with friends and family. I have it on good authority that kids love eating blueberries - they also love picking them. Picking blueberries is a great activity to pair with a conversation with an old friend - I would highly recommend it.
how much does it cost?
2024 Blueberries are $6 per pound. Round to the nearest dollar. We accept cash, check, and Venmo, as well as Pick Your Own Pounds, a new form of paper money available at Twin Crix events and participating shops in town.
What should i bring?
Picking containers and to-go Ziplocs will be provided. Feel free to bring your own picking and packaging containers. Hat, water, and bug spray are recommended, and a sense of childlike enthusiasm, diligent positivity, or archaic resonance will be beneficial.
